The document has been prepared in the frame of SETRIS project and the contents have been reviewed and approved by the five transport European Technology Platforms (ETP): ERTRAC, ERRAC, ACARE, ALICE and WATERBORNE.
Allan Woodburn‘s review of The Logistic Revolution: The Rise of Logistics in the Mass Consumption Society by Richard Vahrenkamp states that this book, translated from German, provides an accessible introduction to the development of “logistics” in Germany, with elements that can be transferred to other geographical contexts.
The review highlights that whilst integrating “the social, political, economic and technological developments” effectively a clearer rationale is required to justify the inclusions of certain elements. The review is available here.
